BHF Group was given the very prestigious role of hosting the IHA Centenary Congress in 2009, which is very fitting as British Hardware Federation was one of the three founding members of the International Federation of Hardware & Housewares Associations, and indeed its area of responsibility has expanded into other areas such as garden, tools, electrical appliances and china and glassware since the initial inception.
It is therefore an honour for BHF Group to be invited to host this event, which is expected to draw delegates from up to 19 countries around the world, including the USA, China, Australia and several European countries. This also reflects the status BHF Group has within the International Federation and the work carried out to ensure that the independent sector continues to thrive in an increasingly tough trading environment.
We are very pleased that HRH Princess Anne has agreed to be the Royal patron for the event and await confirmation of which part of the Congress she will be able to attend.
There is, of course, a matter of financing such a global event and this is where I need your support. BHF Group is, as you know, a non-profit organisation and we will have great difficulty in hosting such an event without you, the suppliers to our industry. To this end, I would ask you to show your support through sponsorship and this will continue before, during and after the event. Full details of our various packages are attached with this letter.
We hope that your contribution, preferably with your attendance, will enable BHF Group to make this International Congress a true celebration of the past 100 years of the hardware and housewares industries, and an opportunity proactively to look into the future.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Yours sincerely
Alan Hawkins
